From the worst Blogger ever.... a catch up (Part 1)

I realize that I am probably the worst blogger ever... but this summer I was busy with travelling, playing, not working, and spending as little time on my computer as possible. haha... I did have more free time so you think I'd have written more... Then the past 2 months have been super busy with wedding planning, moving to San Diego, and starting to work again (back in the wonderful world of auditing)... it's been busy. So here I am, unable to focus on work because I'm getting MARRIED in 3 days, so I decided to do a quick update from summer to know.... Here goes.... (I promise I will try to be better updating after the wedding)

4th of July:

After Croatia came home just in time for 4th of July in HB... which is always such a fun time! (This is also the time where Nate and I really decided we were going to get married :) ) 4th of July is a full day event with Breakfast and parade, beach time, BBQs and Fireworks!

Officially Engaged!!!

I know I am terrible about keeping up with my blog, and I have lots to update from my summer, but before I do that I knew I needed to post something about being engaged! Even though we've been planning the wedding for a month now, we just made it official last Tues! (The ring was getting made by my family friend in AZ, so it took a little longer). But I love it and I love being engaged, officially. He proposed by taking me to Balboa Park in San Diego, where we walked around and ate dinner at the Prado. The dinner was great and after we walked down to this courtyard below the restuarant which looked up to the lights on the patio and to a garden. It was just us and he said those things I wanted to hear and asked me to marry him! There was no production or other people involved, it wasn't cheezy, it was just us... which is totally Nate! It was great and its wierd to think I'm getting married in 50 days! I know, that's crazy. October 24 in San Diego, a temple which I've loved since childhood, so I'm very excited. I will post more about the upcoming wedding and will update from my summer soon. But here are some pics from the night and of my ring!

Adventures in CROATIA

My mom and I spent 2 weeks in Croatia. We did an REI adventure trip for 8 days which included days of hiking, biking and kyaking. Croatia is a beautiful country right on the Adriatic Sea with a variety of national parks. We spent days hiking around beautiful lakes and waterfalls, kyaking around islands and down river rapids, and biking around the countryside. The water is all crystal clear and an amazing blue color. The old cities were incredible, with the old city walls and cobblestone streets. We also spent a few days at the end relaxing and laying out in Split and Dubrovnik, enjoying a break from the group. I will post a slideshow of more pictures next since there were so many great ones. This is just a small sample...
The old city of Dubrovnik, looking from the wall over the city.

Kyaking down the river, and walking around the waterfall.

At the waterfalls in the national park near Trogir.

My mom and I on the wall in Dubrovnik... and yes sweating, as we were ALL week.
